We can't believe the 4th of July is almost here!!!! In preparation for the holiday, we are sharing all of our go-to 4th drinks, appetizers and salads! When it comes to the forth many of us may be thinking lots of food & drinks, but we are here to tell you that you can enjoy the holiday & wake up the 5th light, bright and ready to go!

Let's talk the best tips for all the BBQs.

  1. Bring a salad or veggie tray with a delish, healthy dip. We love a platter full of cucumbers, carrots, bell pepper, radish and cauliflower with a side of homemade hummus (check out our recipe on instagram) and dairy free pesto

  2. Bring a large green salad. Everyone will love a greek salad, simple chopped salad or The Daily Summer Salad (recipe below)

  3. Fill your plate with the veggies & protein. We love a turkey burger, chicken burger, or beef burger, leave the hot dogs for the kids! Next fill your plate with the veggie options. This will keep you full, satisfied & bloat free!

  4. 3 bite rule! For the things that are more decadent, use the 3 bite rule, place just enough on your plate to enjoy a few bites!

  5. Stay hydrated! Drink lots of water throughout the day & evening. This will prevent the headache the next day.

  6. ENJOY yourself! Be present and have fun!

The Daily Summer Salad

1 bag Mixed Greens

1/2 cup Roasted Corn (buy frozen at TJ)

1/2 Cucumber

1/2 cup Cherry tomato

1 Avocado

Mix olive oil, balsamic vinegar & tsp dijon mustard for a dressing!

Let's get to the fun is what we are preparing for the 4th!

Red, White and Blue Parfait

3/4 cup of non dairy yogurt fresh cut strawberries fresh blueberries

fresh blackberries 1/2 cup of purely elizabeth granola

to assemble: layer strawberries on the bottom of the cup

then add yogurt next, add blueberries then sprinkle in some granola repeat!! **option to add almond butter for more protein!

the 4th Salad:

1 bag of spinach

fresh cut strawberries fresh blueberries fresh blackberries one handful or marcona almonds or walnuts your choice of lean protein—eggs, ground turkey, salmon or chicken evoo salt and pepper to taste

to assemble: lay a bed of spinach down in the salad bowl next add fruit then add nuts and/or protein

drizzle in evoo and toss

Festive Frozen Bites

Greek yogurt

Honey or agave

Vanilla extract



Salted Almonds

Mix yogurt, vanilla & honey/agave in a bowl.

Spread thin over parchment paper on a baking sheet.

Top with fruit & salted almonds

Freeze for 3 hours.

Skinny Paloma

3/4 can Grapefruit Spindrift

1/2 lime juice

3oz Tequila

Himalayan Pink sea salt (optional)


Mix. Stir. Sip.

In a bowl muddle blueberries, raspberries and chopped mint. Place spoonful of mix into an ice cube tray then top with water. Freeze for 3 hours.
